Sam Wilde collaborated with the municipal of Kobe, Japan to create a participatory installation where visitors collectively made an evolving fine art pattern by sticking one thousand hand-drawn Frog Tessellation stickers onto a mural space. Each sticker is unique and serves as a representation of the individual participant within the collective whole.
Upon entering the exhibition, the first one thousand visitors received a sealed envelope containing their unique Frog Tessellation sticker along with a matching signed and sequentially numbered art print. Visitors were then encouraged to stick their sticker onto the mural space however they choose. Allowing the fine art pattern to emerge organically through their collective participation.

Theoretically, participants could have prioritized combined grouping by sticking all one thousand stickers in perfectly aligned unity. Conversely, individual expression could have taken precedence, resulting in all one thousand stickers being stuck in chaotic disarray.
Either way, in Equi- there is no “correct” or “incorrect” way to contribute to the collective whole.
