Sam Wilde collaborated with Svenskt Tenn to create Poison of Edena collection of hand-crafted brass and glass ornaments based on poisonous plants.
A taxonomy of temptation, Poison of Eden explores the tension between attraction and caution. Drawing from plants historically linked to pleasure, where familiarity is mistaken for innocence and allure conceals danger.
Each ornament represents a different ailment based on the biochemical effects of its real-life counterpart. Grapes cause intoxication, Hops disorient and Nicotine triggers addiction.
In these counterparts meaning takes shape, a balance of poison and pleasure, of darkness and light. Poison of Eden reflects a world too willing to accept beauty at face value and offers a quiet reminder that not everything desirable is truly safe.
